There was a time when the annual health check-up felt like an expedition.
For years, the gold standard of keeping track of your health was a yearly blood investigation at your nearest laboratory. In my case, that usually meant waking up early after a long overnight fast, dragging the wifey out of bed, starting the car, and preparing myself mentally for the journey into Seremban town.
The mission? Get to Pathlab. Simple enough, right? Not quite.
First, there was the morning traffic. Then came the challenge of navigating Seremban town. And finally, the ultimate boss battle — finding a parking space. All this before getting a single drop of blood drawn.
Trust me, attempting this without a proper cup of coffee beforehand can turn even the calmest person into a professional complainer.
A Little Bit of History
Fun fact: Pathlab traces its origins back to Singapore in 1952 and established its first branch in Malaysia in 1974, making it one of the country's longest-established private medical laboratory providers.
The Good News: Pathlab Has Arrived in Seremban 2
Thankfully, those days may now be behind us.
Pathlab has officially opened a new branch at the IKON commercial precinct in Seremban 2, bringing its laboratory services much closer to residents in the township and surrounding areas.
For many of us living in the southern side of Seremban, this means:
- Less travelling into town
- Less traffic stress
- Less hunting for parking
- More convenience for routine health screenings
And perhaps most importantly, fewer encounters with the infamous traffic lights along the Labu route. At least until the nearby IKON apartments are fully occupied!

Double Happiness for Seremban 2
As if that wasn't good enough news, there's another welcome addition to the neighbourhood.
ISEC International Eye Specialist has also opened its doors within the same area (coming soon, but the signs are up!).
For residents of Seremban 2 and nearby townships, access to specialised eye care is now significantly more convenient, without the need to travel further afield for consultations and treatment.

One of the most exciting things about watching Seremban 2 grow over the years is seeing essential services gradually catch up with the township's expanding population.
Healthcare facilities, specialist clinics, laboratories, retail offerings, dining options and community services are all signs of a township coming into its own.
The arrival of both Pathlab and ISEC International Eye Specialist is another positive milestone in that journey.
